Tell me, what is it you plan to do

with your one wild and precious life? - Mary Oliver

About Me

I understand therapy as an emergent process grounded in the relationship between the client and the therapist and I strive to meet each client where they are on any given day. My process and approach is rooted in trauma-responsive practices and involves weaving together tools from a variety of approaches, including somatic, systems-based, cognitive-behavioral, relational psychodynamic and depth psychology modalities.

I have experience working with a wide range of people in both community clinic and private practice settings. I am passionate about helping people who have experienced trauma find a way to process their experiences, obtain greater meaning and understanding, and move into a more functional, open, and hopeful way of of being in the world. I have a particular interest in working with clients who work in the service professions.

I obtained a BA in psychology from Brandman University and a MA in psychology from Meridian University. I am currently a fourth-year doctoral student at Meridian University working towards my Doctorate in Psychology. Previously I have worked as both a social worker and as a trauma-informed coach.

*** Deva is a registered psychological associate under the clinical supervision of Dr. Jessica Lara, PsyD. ***
