New Growth Psychology

Clara Allen, LMFT
Feeling real is more than existing; it is finding a way to exist as oneself... and to have a self into which to retreat for relaxation.

About Me
I provide a warm, safe, and non-judgmental environment that encourages curiosity. I have experience working with a diverse population of individuals, having completed training at a University Counseling Center, high schools, and a community health clinic. I am passionate about working with teens and young adults and continuously pursuing training and supervision to increase my clinical and therapeutic knowledge.

I tend to approach therapy with authenticity, compassion and gentleness. My therapeutic lens is psychodynamic, trauma informed, intersectional, and attachment based. I also utilize strengths-based, cognitive behavioral and acceptance and commitment interventions when appropriate.
Our early experiences with others directly impacts our ways of relating to ourselves and others as adults. Some of these ways of relating are known to us while others seem to escape awareness. I believe each individual person has a unique story that possesses strength and resiliency, while also containing weakness and uncertainty. Part of our work together will be helping you to know all parts of your story, including the parts that feel uncomfortable. It is daunting work, but you will not have to do it alone.

My hope is that while working collaboratively together, you will see an increase in awareness and insight in regards to unhelpful patterns of behaviors, while exploring barriers to change in the hopes of transformation.
